Interview: Sudan FM Lam Akol Ajawin on Darfur

–  Lam Akol Ajawin has served as foreign minister of Sudan since September 2005. He comes from the south of Sudan, a region that fought a decades-long devastating war with Khartoum.  He is a high-ranking official in the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A). When a peace accord was reached between the Khartoum government and the rebels in the south, Ajawin became foreign minister, and the SPLM/A were given several key ministries as part of the government of national unity.
